You've Been Living in One Room
The rest of the house has been closed off for years.
Complex trauma therapy for late-diagnosed autistic and ADHD adults. Throughout Colorado.
You Keep One Room Presentable
There’s the version of the house people are allowed to see.
Clean, lit, ready for company.
Then there’s everywhere else.
Doors you stopped opening. Rooms you’ve been climbing over furniture to avoid for so long that the route feels normal.
Most of your own house is off limits to you, too.
Your Workarounds Have Their Own Workarounds
Nothing in this house ever got repaired, only routed around, one workaround at a time.
Extension cords taped down across the floors. A door that only opens if you lift it.
A set of rules you follow without noticing, because you wrote most of them before you were ten.
The house runs. Running it is the whole job.
This house was always worth restoring. So was the life inside it.

The old memories work like the frayed wiring behind the walls.
Live, unpredictable, and still throwing sparks when something brushes them.
EMDR and the flash technique settle that wiring down, one circuit at a time, in an order you agree to first.
Nothing opens up until you say it does.
What You Get Back, Room by Room
None of this arrives at once... it shows up as rooms you stop avoiding.
- Catch the first flicker on a Wednesday morning, hours before it lands.
- Recall hard memories without the room going hot.
- Drop the upkeep in rooms where it was never required.
- Step out of a hard conversation and come back in, same afternoon.
- Live in more of your own house than you have in years.
Eventually the house is simply where you live.
Your House Comes Back in Three Phases
-
1
Make It Habitable
First the place gets livable. You learn to catch the heaviness and the antsiness early, and you leave with a short sequence called NARF for the moments that turn loud.
Your days stop costing so much. -
2
Strip the Wallpaper
The wallpaper comes off. EMDR, the flash technique, and somatic work settle the memories underneath, and the protective habits built on top of them come up for review.
The layers come off for good. -
3
Move Back In
Room by room, you decide what each one is for now. Limits go in with the people and places that never earned the access they had.
The whole house is yours again.

Frequently Asked Questions
Most of the people I see have been through therapy before. The mismatch usually came from working on symptoms without accounting for how your brain is actually built, which is where we start instead.
No. There’s a method called the flash technique that lowers the intensity of a memory while your attention stays somewhere else entirely, and it’s often where we begin.
Not before we start. If that question is still open for you, evaluation is one of the routes available here, and plenty of people begin the work before it’s settled.
No. This is the population I work with all day, so the sensory pieces, the executive load, and the masking don’t need a preamble from you.
Then you don’t. The aim is being able to tell when you’re masking and decide about it, which is a very different thing from dropping it in every room you walk into.
Take the First Step Today
A house like this comes back one room at a time. The first conversation is only about which room… and whether I’m the right person to open it with you.
The consultation is free and runs about fifteen minutes. Nothing gets planned in it that you haven’t agreed to.
Most of the house is still standing, and so are you.
